Key Skills

LSDA

>Project Details

Key Skills was a government education initiative designed to promote abilities in 3 areas: communication, numeracy and information technology. It was available in schools and colleges across the UK to pupils age 16 and over.

The Learning & Skills Development Agency briefed us to design and write an energetic print and web communications campaign that would inform and motivate pupils. We were chosen because of our expertise in the music indistry and youth sector.  We generated concepts that avoided the cliches and hype usually found in official student oriented communications.  A radical design was applied to postcards, posters, leaflets and a website.

The campaign was subjected to rigorous market testing.  The work was shown to groups of school age students in London and Sheffield.  Their response was monitored.  The strking graphics, vibrant colours, radical typography and the absence of a patronising tone gained a high approval rating.
